Answers to common questions we receive on 4FigLovers.com.
Yes. We find it simplest to just cut the bottom of the cutting to remove the wax, and soak in 1/2″ of water for one hour before rooting.
No. And we currently have no plans to offer this service. Some of our customers use “shipping relay” services for international orders, but we provide NO SUPPORT for such orders. See our Shipping Policy page for more details.

Fig cuttings ship without issue to California. However, fig trees can be intercepted and confiscated by the State of California. Customers assume all risk of fig tree confiscation.
We do not take orders by telephone, private messages, or email but only through 4FigLovers.com. We do also list some select cuttings and trees on figBid, but your best option is to purchase from 4FigLovers.com.

No. Though we have done this in the past, the volume of requests has become very difficult to manage and throws off our inventory. We suggest using the “Notify me” feature on each unavailable product. Please time your order accordingly. Our turn-around time for orders is often less than 24 hours, though weekends, holidays, and extreme weather conditions will obviously stretch this time. And we recommend that you not store cuttings, but root them as soon as possible.
Major credit cards and PayPal. We may add other forms of electronic payments in the future, but have no plans to accept checks or other forms of non-electronic payments.
We ONLY ship via USPS Priority Mail. This helps to ensure the freshness of fig cuttings and trees at a reasonable cost. Please do not request any other shipping method.
Our cuttings season usually begins sometime in November when our fig trees go dormant and continues through to late winter or early spring, when our fig trees begin to awake. However, some of our trees are quite large and may require some summer pruning to maintain them, so some varieties may be available year-round.
