Description

MdC was popularized in the US by FigsArt byNikky, and the variety may be the same as Nerino, Fico Secco, Sementino, and/or Piacentino. It can dry on the tree, is resistant to rain, with a very long stem, small to tight ostiole, early, very short hang-time, and very productive. Named after the municipality of Caneva, Pordenone in the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and italian “moro“, meaning dark-skinned. Though an heirloom variety in Italy, it is still quite rare in the US. Has a proclivity to produce some very interesting looking mule figs.
