Description

We received our RVR mother tree cutting directly from ProFig, and so far it is a dropper, so we are tentatively classifying RVR as a smyrna type fig variety. It is still a young tree, so we will continue to trial it to see if it will hold onto figs with maturity. Here’s what ProFig has to say about caprified specimens:

Found in a grove of seedlings near Pine Flat lake. The shape and color is very reminiscent of Black Madeira. I only got to try one fig from this tree as it’s very inaccessible. It had a very strong and tart berry flavor. I passed out some cuttings last year to people outside of wasp land. As of now we do not know if it’s common.
